In a landmark event held at Lira City, the Minister of Gender, Labour and Social Development officiated the graduation ceremony of the Enterprising Young Women and Youth Project, celebrating 300 women entrepreneurs who completed vocational skills training in tailoring, baking, and agro-processing.
The graduates, drawn from across Lango and neighbouring sub-regions, received nationally recognised certificates through NUWEBIZ’s MOU partner institutions.
Speaking at the event, the Minister commended NUWEBIZ Foundation for its sustained work empowering women in Northern Uganda and reaffirmed government’s commitment to the GROW Project’s target of reaching 42,000 women.
Graduates will be linked to start-up support and Empowerment Fund loans, with many expected to establish women-led business groups and VSLAs.
