In the heart of Gulu City, a new chapter is unfolding for women entrepreneurs who are working tirelessly to build businesses, support their families, and contribute to the growth of their communities.
Through its commitment to advancing women’s economic empowerment, NUWEBIZ Foundation has successfully facilitated the establishment of the Women Entrepreneurs Platform (WEP) in Gulu City (June 2026), creating a structured network where women entrepreneurs can unite, collaborate, and access opportunities that strengthen their enterprises.
The formation of the platform followed a series of community engagements, awareness sessions, registration processes, and inclusive consultations that brought together women from diverse business backgrounds. Through a transparent and democratic process, members elected their leadership team to represent their interests, coordinate activities, and provide strategic direction for the growth of women-led enterprises across the city.
The establishment of WEP goes beyond creating a network β it is about building confidence, strengthening leadership, and creating an environment where women entrepreneurs can move from operating individually to growing collectively. Through this platform, women will be better positioned to access mentorship, business information, financial opportunities, market connections, and partnerships that can accelerate enterprise growth.
When women have the right platforms and support systems, they become powerful contributors to economic transformation. Their businesses create employment, strengthen households, inspire future generations, and contribute to the prosperity of entire communities.
Together, we are creating stronger enterprises, amplifying women’s voices, and shaping a future where women entrepreneurs lead the way in economic transformation.
